WEEK 1 - Minecraft Mega Modding (June 22-June 26)

$550.00

Stop playing the game—start rewriting the rules.

If your camper has ever said, "I wish Minecraft had [Insert Crazy Idea]," this is where that idea becomes reality. We dive under the hood of the world’s most popular game to teach the art and science of "Modding." From custom enchanted swords to entire new dimensions, campers will learn that in Minecraft, the only limit is their own imagination.

The Modder’s Toolkit

We use industry-standard tools and beginner-friendly platforms like MCreator, Blockbench, and Cursforge to bridge the gap between playing and programming:

  • Custom Mob Lab: Design, texture, and animate your own creatures. Want a fire-breathing chicken or a friendly teleporting giant? You’ll learn to code their AI and behavior from scratch.

  • The Architect’s Workshop: Create custom blocks, biomes, and ores. Design a "Candy Land" dimension or a high-tech obsidian fortress with unique physical properties.

  • Power-Ups & Epic Loot: Build custom armor sets and legendary tools. Use logic to give your "Super Sword" the power to summon lightning or your boots the ability to walk on lava.

  • Game Logic & Scripting: Learn the fundamentals of "If/Then" logic and variables to create complex game mechanics, like custom quest triggers or unique redstone behaviors.

Why Modding?

This camp is a "stealth-learning" powerhouse. While campers are busy making explosions or cool pets, they are actually mastering:

  • Computational Thinking: Breaking down complex game mechanics into small, logical steps.

  • 3D Modeling & Art: Using pixel art and 3D space to create professional-looking game assets.

  • Java Fundamentals: Gaining exposure to Java (the language Minecraft is built on) in a high-motivation environment.

  • Iterative Design: Testing, "debugging" their mods, and refining them until they work perfectly.

The Final Showcase

On the last day, we host a Modded Server Party! Campers will upload their creations to a shared server where they can play-test each other's mods and show off their custom worlds to their fellow "Devs."

FUN FRIDAY TRIP: (Optional)
We will ask campers where they want to go on Monday and will decide by wednesday. Options are endless with theme parks, Science centers, Zoos and more!
