WEEK 2 - Roblox Lua Coding and 3D Modeling (June 29 - July 3)

Roblox is no longer just a place to play—it’s a powerful engine for the next generation of game developers. In our Roblox Studio Camp, campers move from "Player" to "Developer," mastering the professional tools used to create global hits. This year, we are taking it a step further by integrating cutting-edge AI coding assistants, showing campers how to build faster and smarter than ever before.

The Developer’s Roadmap

Using Roblox Studio and the Luau programming language, campers will build a high-quality, multiplayer game from scratch:

• World Building & Physics: Master "Part" manipulation, terrain tools, and environmental lighting to create stunning 3D landscapes.

• Game Mechanics: Learn to script core elements like "Obby" checkpoints, custom leaderboards, and currency systems (In-game Gold/Points).

• GUI Design: Create professional menus, shop interfaces, and health bars to give your game a "AAA" feel.

The AI Advantage: Coding at Warp Speed

We teach campers how to use Roblox’s Assistant (AI) and generative coding tools responsibly and effectively. This isn't about "cheating"—it's about learning the future of software engineering:

• Prompt Engineering for Luau: Learn how to describe a complex idea—like a "gravity-defying jump pad"—to an AI assistant and turn that description into working code.

• Debugging with AI: Use AI to identify "bugs" in scripts and learn how to fix them, turning frustrating errors into learning moments.

• Rapid Prototyping: See how AI can generate repetitive code structures, allowing campers to focus on the "Big Ideas" and creative gameplay loops.

• Ethical Innovation: We discuss the importance of understanding the code the AI generates, ensuring campers stay in the "Driver’s Seat" of their own creations.

• Logic & Syntax: Understanding the backbone of Luau programming.

The Grand Launch

On Friday, we hit Publish. Campers will host their games on the Roblox platform, allowing friends, family, and the world to play their creations. Every camper leaves with a live game link and the skills to continue building their own digital empire.

FUN FRIDAY TRIP: (Optional)
We will ask campers where they want to go on Monday and will decide by wednesday. Options are endless with theme parks, Science centers, Zoos and more!
